A History of Dirt is a dance for four women that considers how the past affects the present by presenting physical embodiments of human experience and connection. Together, in our creative process and in our upcoming performances, we investigate the body as a keeper of histories - a record of things we’ve done and of things done to us. We exist in a web of histories - those of our family, our city, our nation, and more. We are deeply impacted by this web, sometimes without our conscious knowledge, but our bodies know, carry, and remember. Throughout this creative process, I’ve worked to make a space to listen and discover what the body is holding.
